Live-in Resort Manager/Care Taking Couple - Lake Shasta, CA

We are looking for a live-in manager/care taking couple for our under construction but still doing business resort located in Northern California on Lake Shasta. (Lakehead area)

Reporting for training as soon as possible.

Duties include: (but not limited too)

* Preparing and maintaining cabins to rental ready condition.

* Cleaning of the guest cabins, bathrooms, kitchen and living room when guests have checked out. There is a person who comes and cleans the cabins presently but additional money could be earned if you did the cleaning or some of the cleaning.

* Lawn and property maintenance (mowing, weed whipping, weeding, watering)

* Welcoming and hosting guests. Organizing group trips of local areas is a possibility.  

Helping guests with boat launching and trailer parking and getting situated at the resort

The Manager/care taking team will live on-site in a two-bedroom cabin (furnished or unfurnished) which has a kitchen and full bathroom, also is cable TV and satellite wireless internet . A new three bedroom caretaker cabin is currently under construction.

Compensation is room & utilities; and 10% of gross earnings when cabins and RV spots are rented plus any cleaning fees earned during the changeover.

Weekend and morning hours are required during the busy season or when cabins are rented. The summer season starts in May and ends around Labor Day in September. Peak season is Memorial Day through Labor Day.
* Cabin cleaning depends on guest check-out time (11:00 AM) and takes up to 1 1/2 hours per 1 bedroom cabin and 2 hours per 2-bedroom cabins (We have 5 - 2 bedroom cabins and 4 – 1 bedroom cabins and 7 RV spots)
* Reservation are taken through an on-line system and also the main office (Dryco Const. Inc) but organized onsite management is required. Check in, check out, single night drive in guests, ect. You will have some phone calls about lake level and accommodations and all calls should be answered right away or return calls ASAP.
* Cleaning of the common areas as well of facilities maintenance is on-going after all other tasks have been complete.
* During busy season (Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends) the Manager(s) would be on call through the day and evening for guests needs and to greet new guests upon their arrival. During off season the Managers are responsible for occasional (off-season) guests’ needs, maintenance of the property against harsh weather conditions and routine maintenance.  As this is a couple’s team concept it is acceptable to have one of the caretakers in a full time or part time job ideally flexible enough to help out as needed during the busy season. As an example a couple with one partner working as a teacher, with summers off, would be an ideal working situation for this job.

The ideal couple would have some variance of property management, carpentry, some hotel/resort hospitality, electrical and/or plumbing experience.

* NEAT FREAK - guest cabins, etc.  must be SUPER CLEAN!
* Reliable and Dependable!
* Computer savvy is helpful - Email, Excel, Word.
* Must have excellent, verifiable references!
