Qualifications:
Sophisticated, well groomed couple with 8+ years of formal experience in a private home needed to take care of large estate in Locust Valley, NY. Excellent references required from previous and current employers. The couple will reside in the 2-bedroom cottage on the property. Would need to keep main house, cottage, pool, tennis court and grounds up and running efficiently. Need to have strong English communication skills, both oral and written, a professional mindset and the utmost discretion. Must be very organized with excellent time management skills. Must be tech savvy and familiar with all modern, high-end household systems and appliances. Must be comfortable working around children and a dog. Must be able to swim and drive, and have a valid driver’s license and passport.
Responsibilities:
· Hands-on housekeeping with care of special surfaces, antiques, fine art, and fine furnishings or manage a cleaning staff
· Menu planning, shopping, preparing, and serving formal and informal meals
· Able to cook for 6 – 8 people
· Laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, dry cleaning inventory, packing and unpacking, storing seasonal clothes
· Polish shoes and silver
· Coordinate all entertaining and guest needs; greet and assist guests
· Facilities, HVAC, repairs, carpentry, and general handyman services
· Lawn care and gardening
· Hire, train, and supervise support staff
· Vehicle maintenance, chauffeur, and transportation
· Coordinate and monitor vendors
· Grocery shopping, household errands, personal shopping
· Assist with entertaining and special events
· Household accounting, record keeping, petty cash accounts, etc.
· Above average computer skills (email, word processing, bookkeeping, etc.)
· Extensive home maintenance including annual task lists and other property needs
· Coordinate with owner, architect, and contractor on all construction projects
· Negotiate contracts, invoicing
· Large and small equipment maintenance
· Pool maintenance
· Answer the door and phones in a professional manner at all times
· Sort and review mail; answer correspondence as needed
· Inventory of all household items
· Act as chauffeur and drive children if needed. Run errands.
· Assist in taking care of large dog.
