The Deborah Calkin Agency is in search for a live-in couple to help care for an elderly couple. This position is too much for one person but not enough for two people which is why we’re looking for couples that can help share the responsibilities. There are no set hours but someone needs to be at the house with the couple M-F 24 hours a day with weekends off. A car will be provided for on-duty use and the room can be furnished. The caregiver couple will have their own private room, bath and entrance as well as Internet and cable. The elderly couple does have their daily routine, which can help create a schedule for the caregivers, including enough time for them to have another job. One person can have a full-time job, or both can have part-time jobs outside of this position as long as the elderly couple is being taken care of and is their main priority. However, the ideal couple would have a flexible schedule that allows them to work remotely so they are both available during the week. Job duties include the management of oxygen and medication, helping care for an 18-year-old dog, cooking, light housekeeping, dishes, laundry, driving couple, grocery shopping, running errands and of course being a friendly companion to the couple. This is a long-term position with a minimum of a one-year commitment, perfect for couples who enjoying helping care for others while being able to save on rent and food with a weekly salary of $1000 or more depending on experience.
