Live in the Appalachians! Hookup/Pay for Trade/Work - Maintenance of AirBNB's and Farm - Mouth of Wilson, VA

If you are looking for a purposeful yet more simple life away from the city rat-race or even away from the busy campground...then consider joining us here at Rugby Creek.  We are a 67 acre family run farm, with an AirBNB business, nestled within the Appalachian Mountains only minutes from Grayson Highlands State Park and Mt Rogers Wildnerness Area.  Nearby is the north-flowing New River, The Virginia Creeper Trail, The New River Trail, Mt Jefferson and many other local natural attractions. 

Our business is AirBNB vacation rentals consisting of 2 cabins (soon to be 3), 2 tiny homes, and 4 barn apartments.   We like our guests to seek quiet peaceful r&r and enjoy providing this for them.  Our Farm consists of horses (retired and rescued mostly), 2 milk cows (yes we do milk one at a time), 1 Tibetan Yak (super cool), and a mixture of sheep/goats/rabbits and chickens.  

We are seeking to find a couple that would enjoy the life style we have to share, who would love to be in this area and doing what we love to do. By adding a working couple it will give us some relief time as well as extra help to continue making this place more beautiful and run even smoother - working together!

We will be providing a FULL Hookup (water, electric and sewer) for your RV/Camper.  Hookup site can accomodate up to a 54' total length rig and is 10' wide.  It is gravel based (pics show dirt as gravel is being put in in the next few weeks. The hookup location is up on the mountain tucked into the woods with views of the mountains nearby from one side and views of the farm through the woods on the other.   We will also provide Wifi and we have washer/dryer facilities down on the farm for your use as well.  We feel these services are worth a $35/night trade for a total trade services per month of $1050.  We will also be paying $1000/month stipend. 

For the hookup and monthly allowance we will request 40 hours work each week on the farm.  This can be split up for smaller increments over many days or fewer days with longer hours, and if you both work the hours then it can be 20/20 or 10/30 for each of you etc - we are flexible on how this works out.  We are seeking for your work days to be Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon and sometimes a Tues.....this allows for you to have approximately 3 weekdays each week for your own exploring etc!  And of course other days off can be worked out when needed.  We just have to all sit down and see what works for both you and us.  There is also the possibility of more paid work.  Like cleaning rentals or bigger projects (remodeling cabins etc)

Your responsibilities on work days would include feeding the animals and maintainance of the barns and cabin property areas (minor repairs, mowing, weed eating, spraying weeds, cutting firewood for guests, us and yourself....and some trail maintenance through the woods when needed etc.  Then if time allows, assisiting us on farm projects like decks, sheds etc. 

We do require the following:
* Must speak English
* Pass Background Check
* Will accept a 1099
* Have valid drivers license
* No Drugs or Partying
* No kids on regular basis (visiting kids on occasion is fine)
* Pets are fine (dogs must not be off leash, no incessent barking dogs as we have cabin guests near your hookup/campsite)
* Must enjoy and be comfortable with Animals and Nature to live here
* Be proficient with riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, log splitters etc etc

Abilities you may have that would be helpful but not mandatory:
*Maintenance of the small engine equipment 
*Plumbing or Electrical experience
*Construction or Building experience
*Cleaning or Hosting experience
