InnKeepers - Lodge 2021 Season - Chama, NM

This is an immediate opening.  Looking for a mature, reliable, personable and trustworthy, non-smoking couple to be Innkeepers at a 35-room/cabin/mobile home lodge. This lodge is located on 8.5 acres of wooded property along the Chama River. This is a seasonal, live in, position beginning in May 2021.  The lodge has been closed for the winter but will reopen mid April.  We are looking for managers to start May 1st for training.  Job requires a self-motivated couple with LOTS of energy, ability to multi-task and willingness and the personality to interact with guests and staff.  Chama is a great place to live, the summers are mild and the fall is spectacular! 

Candidate(s) must be customer orientated, be computer proficient & have supervisory and maintenance skills.

Applicant(s) will be required to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed.  A valid driver’s license is required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining Elkhorn Lodge’s reputation within the community, online and with guests
• Hiring, training, supervising staff to meet Elkhorn Lodge standards
• Responsible for monitoring and recording hours worked by staff; communicating hours to owners so that paychecks can be released in a timely manner.
• Customer Service via front desk, on phone, internet and in person
• Learn and maintain Cloudbeds (reservation management system)
• Balancing credit card transactions and cash daily via Cloudbeds
• Deposit cash into Washington Federal bank account in Chama
• Order supplies through Amazon and PMI to keep lodge running smoothly.
• Clean rooms when needed.
• Maintenance and upkeep of facility including but not limited to:

                      Replacing toilets, light fixtures, hot water heaters, clogged pipes, lawn care, painting, Installation                        of new flooring, replace screens, plow snow when needed.  

The lodging industry does not conform to the typical 8-5, Monday-Friday schedule; this is a 24/7 job; days off will be provided.  The nearest town, Pagosa springs, CO is 45 minutes away. where there is a Wal-Mart, a small theather, and stores.  You will be near national forests, rivers, lakes and the beautiful San Juan Mountains.    Great scenery and vacation activities abound near Chama, like fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, biking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country and downhill skiing at Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado.

Compensation package includes a  2 bedroom, 1 bath house with a dining room, living room with fire placer, kitchen and fenced in yard, all utilities paid, wi-fi and cable and use of laundry facilities.  The house is attached to the lobby and the laundry.

This is a salaried position, money also paid directly towards your cell phone and or vehicle insurance.  You will also receive .56 cents per mile when your vehicle is used for business.
