House-Keeping & Maintenance Manager Position
We are searching for a special couple to hire as our House-Keeping & Maintenance Managers in beautiful Chama, NM. An individual may also be considered. The managers will be in charge of cleaning and turning over the houses that we manage as short-term rentals from one guest to the next. As well as doing basic maintenance on properties we manage, including; plumbing, basic electrical, trash removal, yard maintenance, and snow removal.
Daily duties will include housekeeping, managing housekeepers as needed, training staff, laundry, ordering supplies, being the eyes on the property, and working with the owners on all aspects of the business. This position will be working weekends and some holidays. The busy season runs from May through October and the slow season is November through April. During the busy season expect to work 6 days/week and 4/week during the slow season.
The owners will be hands on in the business daily as well. The manager will be working along-side the owners to ensure cleanliness and guest experience with the properties. We will be working out of our main office with a small laundry facility.
Compensation includes a salary DOE, housing or housing stipend, vehicle and fuel card, and paid vacation. Vacation will need to be taken during the slow season.
Chama, NM is located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains at 7800’ of elevation 9 miles south of the Colorado border. Our weather is typical of most mountain towns across the rocky mountain west with spectacularly cool summers and snowy winters. Duties and Responsibilities
- Professionally clean and maintain vacation rental properties using cleaning procedures and products in conformance with prescribed company standards.
- Clean, stock, and supply units (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom cleaning)
- Wash, dry, and fold laundry
- Maintain safe, clean, and attractive grounds
- Work with the owners to develop goals and initiatives aimed at increasing revenue and recognition
- Use off-season for deep cleaning of properties annual maintenance duties
- Interview, hire, train, and monitor small staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to facility's policies and procedures. Terminate staff when necessary
- Requires ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, as well as the physical exertion needed to perform housekeeping
- Purchase supplies, manage linen inventory, and arrange for outside services, such as deliveries, and laundry
