Host/Chef Couple - Fiji - Coral Coast

Small, high end, boutique Fijian resort urgently seeks a full-time, professional , high energy, and technically skilled host/chef couple to manage and maintain the daily operations of our beautiful, beachfront idyllic Coral Coast resort.

We are the only 5 star boutique resort on the Coral Coast to receive exclusively 5 star reviews on tripadvisor.  Providing high end accommodations for just 3 couples at any one time, this resort is all-inclusive providing 5 star facilities, food and spa experiences. We now urgently need the right couple to fill a vacancy in May, initially for a 7 month period with the possibility of a longer term contract if both parties agree

Responsibilities include:

Host: Reservations, guest check in and check out, basic book keeping, social media, marketing, supervision of housekeeping and landscaping staff, overseeing of daily maintenance projects and repair work, arranging of add on services and attending to guest needs with a  high degree of professionalism and attention.

Chef: Unique and quality food preparation for all meals and snacks, sourcing of local produce as well as the purchase and provision of quality wines. 

Qualifications: Experience and qualifications in small hotel management, suitable past experience, strong hospitality/customer service skills; high end chef skills and experience.

Personal Qualities: The successful couple will show the commitment and drive to oversee a small boutique hotel and a local staff of housekeepers, kitchen hands and gardeners as well as an innate understanding of the needs and expectations of clients seeking that unique, high end and five star experience.  They will understand the need to work long shifts and, while the hotel is establishing itself, work potentially many days straight and manage expenses and staff costs. Chef will need to have a creative flair and exceptional food presentation skills, and the ability to work with what may at times be a limited produce supply. Host will need mechanical skills to deal with emergency situatins on equipment and a good understanding of pool maintenance.  In addition the capacity to pass on skills to trainee staff will be an advantage.  

Compensation: Yearly base salary plus profit sharing, commensurate with experience. Large private apartment,  all food while on the premises, exclusive use of car and cell phone and several breaks each year and potential air fares back to mainland (depending upon country of origin)  are included in benefit package. As the position will have fiduciary responsibilities applicants must have verifiable good credit; references will be checked.
