Home with organic gardens in Costa Rica - Platanillo

Seeking a hands-on working couple to caretake at a home with organic gardens in Costa Rica - Platanillo/Tinamastes area July-December 2017. 

We are  looking for a single or couple caretaker(s) starting June 17, 2018. The position includes onsite housing (in a very cool container home!) with internet and utilities provided. We are looking for someone to care for our home and continue growing our gardens and food forest. We practice permaculture in a tropical setting blends agriculture with the surrounding native and erosion control plants. The position would start with a 1-month trial period, and then go through December 2018 (and beyond if interested) The farm is located about 2km from town, so a car isn’t necessary, but it does help to get to the farmers market, beach, etc. This is a family-owned 17 hactares (40 acres) farming project started 10 years ago with a vision to create a place for people to discover the beauty of Costa Rica in a safe, sustainable and familiar way. If you are interested in learning and participating in permaculture design and implementation, green building, shipping container construction, gardening & reforestation, water systems, alternative energy, and living in balance with nature, you have found a good fit with PermaVida. We often host 2-3 volunteers to help with maintaining garden spaces, planting and updating our internal trail system, recycled material projects, and other various farm duties.
