About us: Over the past 30 years, our family has turned a former sugar plantation and mixed crop farm into a well known "Historic Eco Inn" offering cottage rentals, retreats, tours, meals and events. The property is rich in history and natural beauty, adjoining a river and several private beaches. The business is run by my mother (67) and myself (36) with the support of a small staff consisting of 3 general laborers and 2 maids. My mother is originally from Germany, very well traveled, with a background in carpentry, interior design and pre-fabricated architecture. I was raised and educated in St. Lucia, Germany and the US and have a background in International Development and Tourism and Hospitality. I have been working with our family business full time for the past 13 years. In order to grow and improve our business, we are looking for equally competent team members who share our overall vision and commitment to providing an enjoyable and inspiring tourism experience and environmentally sustainable product. This job is an amazing opportunity if you appreciate a healthy, challenging, and self-sufficient lifestyle and have ever dreamed of owning your own property/guesthouse/farm. Your work hours will be flexible, but there will be times when you might need to work long hours or be on call. While this is not a management position, we will seek to train you in all important areas of our operations and you will be encouraged and expected to take a leading role and share the responsibility of ensuring the smooth operation of the business and the safety and well-being of all residents staff and guests. If you have what it takes, you will be able to work independently and be given the opportunity to learn and grow with the business. While we want to keep the authenticity, family atmosphere and non-commercial nature of our property, we strongly believe that with a competent team, our property, business and home can become even more beautiful, efficient, sustainable and profitable.

Compensation will include free room and board on property, a stipend of US$ 200 per month per person, and a performance bonus. You will be responsible for your own health insurance and travel expenses and any other personal expenses. The start date for this job is flexible, sometime between March and April 2014.
