WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Hello and welcome to our beautiful permaculture farm in stunning south western Oregon. Our farm is 5 acres with forests, meadows, and a creek running through it. We have gorgeous views of the mountains and are about 5 minutes away from epic swimming and glorious scenery at the Illinois River. We have an organic egg business with about 200 free roaming chickens. We also have around 50 ducks, 6 Nubian dairy goats, and a couple acres of veggies growing. Plans for expansion include a 100 tree fruit orchard and more greenhouses for veggie sprouting.
Nearby attractions include valley and mountain hiking, river and creek swimming, rafting, kayaking, backpacking, caves national monument, ponds, alpine lakes, old growth forests, redwoods, beaches, and so much more!
Our suggested length of stay is a minimum of 3 nights and up to 6 weeks. We are open to more permanent residents if it’s the right fit. Helpers are desired year round and duties would include; weeding garden beds, harvesting/processing/preserving garden produce, sprouting/caring for/transplanting seedlings, planting fruit trees, setting up drip irrigation, helping build greenhouses, caring for chickens/ducks/goats (feeding, watering, cleaning coops, etc), collecting and washing eggs in our commercial egg washer, chain saw work, turning compost, preparing garden beds, planting veggies, veggie plant and garden maintenance, general grounds maintenance, etc.
Accommodations include creek side tent camping (must provide your own camp gear), or you can park/camp in your van/car/trailer. Both options include access to electricity, an outdoor kitchen, a flush toilet, and hot shower.
Ideal candidates will have their own transportation and speak English. We can not accept any pets. Children are ok as long as you can manage supervising them while also doing the work exchange; we cannot provide you with child care. Food will include yogurt from our goats with fruit for breakfast, egg sandwich (from our chickens) and salad (from our gardens) for lunch, and beans and rice with veggies (from our gardens) for dinner. Cannot accommodate vegan diets and won’t be serving meat unless it’s something like a chicken soup from birds we raised and harvested ourselves.
