Foster Parents - Allentown and Reading , PA

IMMEDIATE NEED FOR FOSTER PARENTS! 

This is an excellent opportunity for couples to work together to make a difference in a teen's life.

SafeGuards is a specialized therapeutic foster care program in Northeastern Pennsylvania designed to treat sexualized children and adolescents who cannot remain with or return to their legal families.  

SafeGuards Foster Parents are integral to the treatment team working with teens to develop and improve their behavior, learn important social and job skills, develop respect for others, and reunite them with their family when appropriate.

SafeGuards Foster Care Services is seeking couples who:

• Possess a genuine interest in FOSTERING success in TEENS
• Desire to mentor teens to acquire the necessary life skills to be successful adults
• Believe youth deserve a second chance

SafeGuards Foster Parents receive:

• $1700.00 tax-free stipend per month, per child
• Paid time off
• Preliminary and ongoing training
• Weekly foster parent support
• 24/7 on-call services

Foster Parent Requirements:

• Must be over 21 years old
• Have no record of felony convictions or misdemeanors convictions of child or elder abuse or sexual abuse
• Have a home with sufficient bedrooms for a foster child or children
• Have sufficiently good physical health to be able to meet the demands of caring for children
• Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and sufficient vehicle insurance

Foster Parents DO NOT need:

• A set minimum income nor own a large home.
• To be married or to be a couple.
