Caretaker position in North Stamford

Seeking a caretaker for beautiful North Stamford property set on a pond with ten acres in exchange for living in gorgeous  4 bedroom, 2.5 bath lake front property. Some responsibilities may be outsourced as needed. Perfect opportunity for a couple with a flexible schedule, or a retired couple seeking a long-term arrangement. 

Responsibilities include:

·Routine maintenance of household (handy person tasks)

·Maintaining landscaping and leaf collection/removal

·Interfacing with contractors and opening house/gate as needed

·Maintaining pool (opening, weekly cleaning and closing)

·Weekly housekeeping and laundry 

·Cleaning gutters

·Snowplowing

·Winter checkups

·Care of organic garden

·Care for chickens and goats (part-time along with owner) 

Also responsible for utility expenses at “cottage” (oil, gas, electric, internet)

About you:

·Responsible, communicative and trustworthy 

·Organized and operates on a timely schedule

·Knowledge of lawn equipment (engines, techniques, etc)

·Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, heating 

·Handy and able to troubleshoot and fix household problems

·Physically active and hard worker

·Holistic/meditative mentality

·Electrician

·Painter

·Generator company

·Arborist

·Landscaper

·Gate maintenance 

·Pool service

·Housekeeping on a weekly basis

·Watching house while owners are away

SPRING

·Cut grass, weed whack, leaf blow

·Mulch and weed gardens

·Set drip systems for gardens

·Clear upstairs patio

·Clean gutters

·Coordinate AC Maintenance

·Open pool

SUMMER 

·Cut grass, weed whack, leaf blow

·Weed perennial gardens and rose garden; fertilize and treat organically

·Maintain pool

FALL

·Close pool

·Leaf removal

·Clean gutters

·Tractor maintenance 

WINTER

·Winterize house

·Turn off water to outside hoses / spigots

·Check on house 

·Turn up heat and keep faucets dripping when near freezing levels

·Setup holiday lighting 

·Snow removal 

Potential for paid help with childcare and elderly care as well.
