FEATURED JOB OPENING: Restaurant Managers - Chiriquí, Panama

A successful and popular international boutique hotel on the Pacific Ocean in the Republic of Panama is looking for a stable couple to take charge of its restaurant operation and run it as if it were their own business. You should have the following minimum professional experience:

1. Head of kitchen/main chef (one of the couple should have at least three years’ experience being a chef and managing a kitchen team)  

2. Restaurant front of house manager / Maitre (the other applicant should have at least two years’ experience in this role)

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a couple who both speak excellent Spanish to have their own restaurant in an idyllic tropical location without the need for any personal financial investment.

Hotel Bocas del Mar has twenty guest suites and its oceanside, open-sided restaurant is always in the top 5 in the Panama province of Chiriquí on TripAdvisor.  Apart from the location and great service, the restaurant has earned that praise through good-value and varied menus of international and regional dishes to please the hotel guests. The guests are generally middle-class vacationers from Panama, North America and Europe. The restaurant also welcome diners from outside the hotel for lunch and dinner. (The overall hotel property is European family-owned and with European management).

Apart from being a professional couple who have worked together before and are committed to customer service, you should also:

• Both be able to speak Spanish to a high level, in order to manage your teams (you’ll have about 20 people working in the bar, restaurant and kitchen)
• (The front of house manager also needs to speak excellent English. Other languages a plus too but not essential)
• Both be lovers of nature and the outdoors – we are in a stunning, oceanside rural location that we love and we want you to love it too (50 minutes ride to the nearest city)
• One or both good at basic math to calculate food dish costs and budgets, although you’ll be able to use the hotel’s accounts department to support you on the bigger things
• Both enjoy working with, motivating and meeting people from different cultures; tell us about that in your application.
