Sunridge Ranch II is seeking a responsible, caring married couple to become respite houseparent’s (HP) for one week per month. Sunridge Ranch, located in Ellensburg,which is two hours from Seattle, was specifically designed and created to promote independent living for four young men with autism and other developmental disabilities.
The mission of Sunridge Ranch II is to provide a life-sharing home focusing on living as independently as possible in a safe, caring homelike environment. The care philosophy of Sunridge Ranch emphasizes encouragement and positive reinforcement with support and respect for each resident. Our respite houseparents are responsible for overseeing their established daily routines while caring for the home. We strive to integrate daily opportunities that a typical person might experience into a unifying whole, so that life is truly as rich and fulfilling as possible.
The respite HP’s will enjoy, during their work week, the luxury of a fabulous, newly constructed home on over 17 acres. The resident owner’s bedrooms all have ensuite baths. Sited on the hillside above Badger Pocket the views abound! A wrap around deck and huge patio area enhance the outdoor living experience. All food and utilities are included while on duty.
Position Salary range from: $2500.00 - $3300.00 per couple, per month depending upon work schedule. Respite houseparents will be paid through DSHS using Washington State Individual Care Provider (IP) hours.
Clients you are caring for attend an offsite support program *4 hours per day (*may vary) M-F year-round. You would be responsible for dropping them off in the morning, with Sunridge provided vehicle, and picking them up in the afternoon.
Support program is approximately 4 miles from Sunridge II and is closed during inclement weather.
Qualifications:
• Must meet the training requirements to become a Washington State Individual Care Provider (IP). Each houseparent will complete 75 hrs. ofpaid training to meet the requirements. Employment shall be contingent upon the results of a Washington State background check. Must have a valid Driver's License and First Aid/CPR certification.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred but, not required.
•Caregivers need to be physically and mentally capable performing residents care plan which includes individual personal hygiene, meal planning, cooking, light housework and light yard maintenance.
• Ability to recognize natural teaching opportunities and act on them. Ability to handle personal care tasks with sensitivity.
• Must be reliable, flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
