Position Summary:
Hogan Family Foundation is seeking a motivated individual or couple to join our team as the Resident Property Manager (RPM). The Foundation operates at four locations in Ventura County, California. Gardens of the World Community Cultural Garden, Rancho St. Francis Horse Rescue Ranch at two locations as well as our Corporate Offices. The Resident Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at Gardens of the World and will work closely with our team at the other locations. The RPM will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of major systems, equipment, agricultural, restoration, fencing, vehicles, and general construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in irrigation systems, basic construction, and some knowledge of general landscaping/horticulture a plus.
The RPM is actively engaged coordinating with management and staff at each location and will proactively anticipate, prioritize, and respond to needs as they arise and will identify and prioritize immediate, midterm, and long-term needs as it relates to infrastructure. In addition, the RPM will develop and execute best practices, plans, and establish budgets and timelines. Emphasis is placed on the importance of fire safety and evacuation. The Resident Manager resides at the Gardens of the World and is expected to be on-site for security and safety reasons.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee operations and maintenance of the Gardens.
- Principles, methods, and techniques used in the installation and repair of irrigation systems including various timing devices, controllers, valves, and heads.
- Supervise all property-related projects.
- Scheduling of maintenance work and preparation.
- Conduct regular inspections of grounds and overall facilities including structures, buildings, fences, sprinkler systems and roads.
- Identify and initiate repairs, replacements, and/or improvements.
- Coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, when necessary.
- Financial management including purchasing supplies, materials, inventory, and equipment.
- Maintenance and janitorial work, if necessary.
- Maintains all property equipment and inventory of supplies.

- Ability to see where assistance is needed and assist proactively.
- Self-directed, hardworking, motivated, and optimistic.
- Ability to work outdoors on uneven, slippery terrain in varying weather conditions with dust and allergens and be on your feet for most of the day.
- Ability to lift 60-80 lbs. (with assistance).
- Ability to twist, bend, kneel, and climb.
- Ability to adhere to the organization’s policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Complies with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and requirements.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years as a Resident Manager and property management experience. Must enjoy performing a wide variety of duties, interacting with the public, working in a fast-paced environment and be able to take initiative and solve problems. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and understand written documents in English and have a general understanding of major building components and systems. Practical knowledge of all types of labor and materials normally used for maintenance and landscaping. Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Must reside on the property. Be available and responsible for weekend coverage of the property.
Job Type: Full-time. Lives on property, on-call. Requires working nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Schedule must be flexible to address requirements outside of normal operating hours. The RPM reports to Ranch Director and the Chief Executive Officer.
