Western Montana Ranch looking for couple to share Ranch Infrastructure Maintenance & Office Administration duties.
Qualifications
- Office Administration experience required.
- Computer experience with record keeping, email, scanning & use of Microsoft Office & other software required
- Experience with and/or willingness to become proficient with home automation, pool care, HVAC, and water systems, etc. required
- Property care & maintenance experience required
- Heavy equipment & operation experience required
- chain saw operation experience required.
- General equipment & vehicle maintenance required.
Other attributes
- Willingness to feed and care for small animals including but not limited to dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, and pigs
- Willingness to administer & direct market Natural Meat program
- Willingness to feed and care for small animals including but not limited to dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, and pigs
- Experience with HVAC, Pools, & Water systems a plus.
- Understanding range and riparian health along with intensive grazing practices a plus
- Honest, hardworking, dependable, open-minded, team players, flexible with strong communication skills
- Able to take direction and work both independently and as a team
- Ranch knowledge & background a plus.
Carpentry/electrical experience a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities
Office Administrator / Caretaker position in itself is not a full-time position. The duties included within the 2 positions can be adjusted & split to accommodate the expertise, experience, strengths, and desires of the couple which may result in 2 full time positions.
The Office Administration position primary focus includes sorting mail, directing mail to appropriate recipients, coding invoices, emailing coded invoices to bookkeeper, CPA, and owners keeping all informed. Maintain livestock inventory & record keeping. Maintain all aspects of government and consultant contracts. Facilitate marketing & sale of Natural Meat Program. Administer home rentals. In addition, in conjunction with the Maintenance / Infrastructure person care for houses including, operation, maintenance & knowledge of, smart home systems, HVAC, electrical, swimming pool, and water systems. Perform yard and lawn care maintenance which includes mowing, tree, and shrub care, pest, and weed control. Daily care for the small animals including dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, pigs, etc. including sourcing and facilitating the purchase of weaner pigs and lambs to raise for butchering. Schedule and facilitate the butchering process for all cattle, pigs, and sheep. Keep chicken egg production up and raise new chicks as needed.
The Maintenance / Infrastructure / Caretaker position primary focus includes infrastructure maintenance, including care & maintenance of buildings, houses, managing projects & grounds keeping. The individual will also maintain roads (keeping roads & trails in good repair and passable), snow removal, & range maintenance, including weed control. Additional duties include, but are not limited to maintaining owners' vehicles, ATVs, & UTVs including, oil changes, fuelling, cleaning, and washing. Also, in conjunction with the Office Administration person care for houses including, operation, maintenance & knowledge of, smart home systems, HVAC, electrical, swimming pool, and water systems. Perform yard and lawn care maintenance which includes mowing, tree, and shrub care, pest, and weed control. Daily care for the small animals including dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, pigs, etc. including sourcing and facilitating the purchase of weaner pigs and lambs to raise for butchering. Schedule and facilitate the butchering process for all cattle, pigs, and sheep. Keep chicken egg production up and raise new chicks as needed.
Another focus when time permits could be helping with the ranch operation including, irrigating, farming, mechanics, and help with livestock, etc.
The ranch location has good schools, hospitals, and all other necessary services. Salary + Benefits will be determined by experience, stability, and references along with the overall skill set the individual or couple brings to the table. Good location and atmosphere for a family and long-term employment.
Wage & Benefits
$36,000 - $60,000 - House including utilities - ½ Beef & Pork – Vehicle for job related use – Vacation after one year
