FEATURED JOB OPENING: Property Caretaker/Manager (or Couple) - Waterfront Condominium on Lake Superior - Tofte, MN

Private homeowner condominium association seeking passionate, reliable, responsible, honest, multi-skilled, organized, flexible, detailed-oriented, and positive individual or couple for caretaker/property manager position. You will oversee all day-to-day aspects of upkeep, maintenance, and management of a 30-unit condominium complex.

Applicants should be a “Jack or Jane of all trades” with quick problem-solving skills; basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical experience; building maintenance experience; and flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the building and owners.

Annual, renewable contract position. Competitive pay + option to live on-site, rent-free, in 800 sq ft, 2-bed, 2-bath unit overlooking Lake Superior. Includes paid utilities. An amazing opportunity for a qualified person to call the North Shore home.

Qualifications

• Self-starter, highly motivated, passionate, reliable, responsible, honest, multi-skilled, organized, flexible, detailed-oriented, and positive team player with a strong work ethic
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects while working independently with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills for occasional interactions with owners and their guests, and regular reporting to HOA Board of Directors
• Working knowledge of construction methods and techniques and hands-on carpentry skills
• Basic knowledge of building mechanicals, including ability to diagnose and solve equipment problems related to HVAC, WiFi, pool chemistry, septic, well, electrical, plumbing, construction, etc.
• Light plumbing and electrical skills
• Ability to manage vendors to allocated budgets and deliverables
• Ability to do basic office skills, tracking receipts, preparing reports to HOA Board
• Willingness to respond 24/7 to urgent needs, and the flexibility to work hours as determined by seasonal or building needs
• Must be proficient in basic office software such as email, Excel, and MS Word
• Familiarity with online hospitality sites (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.) a plus
• Willingness to live on-site, but not required

Physical Demands

• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and for several hours and days in a row
• Other physically strenuous tasks associated with repair, maintenance, and construction-related duties, as needed

Compensation

• Annual, renewable contract starting at $45,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
• Option to live on-site, rent-free, in recently renovated, top-floor, lofted, 800 square foot, 2-bed, 2-bath caretaker unit featuring a fireplace, AC, private washer/dryer, satellite TV, WiFi, walk-out balcony overlooking Lake Superior, and access and enjoyment of all building amenities including indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, grounds, rooftop deck, and more.
