Spend the summer on a private island in Castine, Maine!

Perfect for a couple skilled in hospitality and customer service, historic Nautilus Island in Castine, ME has immediate openings for a talented, service-driven, and detail-oriented Private  Chef and Housekeeper who will manage the day-to-day operations and provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to guests of this captivating refuge on Penobscot Bay.  The five-bedroom, three-bathroom main house accommodates 10 guests comfortably.  In addition to the main house, the island boasts a Har-Tru tennis court, cottage (3 bedrooms), and western-styled bar. 

Reliability, trustworthiness, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential qualities for these roles.

Some of the services to be provided to guests of the island include:

• Provisioning
• Sightseeing
• Boat Shuttles to and from the main island
• Housework

After an initial interview, qualified culinary candidates will be scheduled to prepare trial dinners and be paid an hourly rate.

Primary Duties

Executive Chef

• Create a variety of menus based on the season and preferences of the family and/or guests
• Grocery shopping for all food and household supplies
• Organize and manage the kitchen
• Food and wine inventory control
• Housekeeper
• Maintain high-level of cleanliness in the home and public areas
• Organize and manage housekeeping supplies
• Assist Executive Chef in preparing for meals and special events
