 This job requires the following:
• one spouse to be a handy person & self-starter who is good with farm equipment, hand tools (including power tools) & various kinds of farm repairs & maintenance schedules. 
• other spouse to be someone with hands-on, sole charge 10-20 years experience with horses • preferably in foxhunting & eventing, but not essential. No riding or training needed.
• live on-site & be willing to work weekends & holidays • Drug screen & criminal/DMV background checks. References checked.
• Both need valid driver's license, to be in excellent health with no back problems, fluent English to speak/read/write, computer literate & good with record keeping.
 
 
This one-of-a-kind farm includes the following amenities:
• custom-built (2008), private 7-stall stable in central VA, NW of Richmond. Includes attached 72x158 indoor ring & misting system, your ~1200sf living quarters, 125x200 outdoor ring, 3-bay equipment barn, 7 small pastures, 6-horse exerciser, well-equipped woodworking shop 
• several adjoining residential properties, including owners, on ~30acres, total 
• an employer who comes with references!
 
Job responsibilities for this position include:
• maintain bldgs & grounds, farm equipment, jumps, electric & white board fencing, pasture & stall waterers, sinks, sliding doors, etc. Cut grass, cut/maintain trails, maintain/drag pastures, harrow arenas removing/replacing jumps as needed. 
• All horse care: mucking, feeding/watering, turn-out, grooming, bathing, blanketing, farrier scheduling, worming, medical attention, nutrition, etc. Clean horses & prep/pack rig for foxhunting & horse trials. 
• Stable work - cleaning stalls/tack room/barn areas, manure mngmnt, tack cleaning & horse laundry, maintain supplies (hay/feed/supplements/bedding/other supplies). Packing trailer for horse trials 
• Some hauling of horses in 30’ gooseneck trailer. 
 
Compensation: • top-dollar salary including benefits for qualified couple • Beautiful 1200sf, 3bdrm/3.5bath apt w/ utilities paid • 2dys off/wk, 1wkend/mo • paid 2wk vacation
