FEATURED JOB OPENING: Motel General Manager and Motel Sales Manager Couple - Brooks, AB

We are seeking an exceptional, energetic and professional couple who are young or young-at-heart with an enthusiastic guest service ethic and previous sales and management experience. The perfect couple should have an entrepreneurial spirit and be friendly community builders.  The position rquires hands-on sales and operations management for a busy 53-room family owned motel in small town Alberta.

We are seeking a couple willing to live on premises.  The Manager's Residence is a well-maintained 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, 2 story recently renovated apartment.  It has a spacious, secure private year and is a short walk to many conveniences, including schools, banks and fitness centres.

You will manage all facets of the motel, from budgeting, human resource management, sales and marketing to overseeing daily front desk service, housekeeping and maintenance. A keen interest in gardening and maintenance skills are a plus. Property management software experience is a plus and experience in 21st century sales and marketing techniques is essential.

This job demands that you love working and dealing with people as you will be responsible for front line customer service and front desk operations.  You will handle public relations in a professional manner and be proactive in building long-term relationships with the ultimate goal of building repeat business.

We are asking for a minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry.  You should have strong organizational skills, love to demonstrate attention to detail, be able to work well under busy and sometimes pressure-filled times, and be in a healthy physical condition.

You must be bondable with a clean driving record as well as no criminal record.  References will be checked.  There should also be a history of sound financial practices, feel comfortable giving permission to have a criminal records check done as well as produce the results of a personal credit check. 

We require excellent language skills with the ability to speak, read and write English fluently but fluency in other languages in an asset. You must be able to work and live in Canada and have the appropriate paperwork in place to do so.
