FEATURED JOB OPENING: Management Couple/Innkeeper - Bernardston, MA

We are seeking a residential couple (or two professional partners who have worked together before and are comfortable living in a shared apartment) as residential Innkeepers for our 27 room upscale motel in rural Bernardston, Massachusetts. Our property is located near the Western MA/ Southern VT border, in an area that offers extensive recreational opportunities and is home to some of New England's most prestigious private schools. We are affiliated with Crumpin-Fox Golf Club, which is a premier semi-public, 18 hole destination course. 

Our ideal candidates will be a "hands on" duo with complementary skills to provide all general management and oversight of the property. This is a lifestyle job that requires 24 hour availability and does sometimes mean waking up in the middle of the night to assist a guest with an emergency (most commonly, locking themselves out of their room).  The selected team must be self-motivated and organized with outstanding customer service experience and a true passion for hospitality and maintaining an appealing and safe property. 

Responsibilities:

• Overall day-to-day management and operation of the Inn
• Staffing and supervision of part time staff 
• Guest services, including in person, written/email and phone communications
• Optimizing reservations via timely response to inquiries and management of room blocks, coordination of Stay and Play packages with Crumpin-Fox Golf Club
• Handle check-ins and checkout per established procedures.
• Respond to the guests' needs during their stay, such as inn information, visitor information, directions, etc. 
• Provide input to annual and quarterly marketing initiatives.
• Assist with keeping social media updated, monitor and respond professionally to online reviews
• Provide continental breakfast service and 24 hour coffee/tea area, including ordering or shopping for supplies
• Order and manage supplies and equipment inventory
• Manage daily property operations, including general light cleaning and maintenance of common areas, guest room cleaning, vendor management, and appearance of the grounds
• Property/facility maintenance – provide or arrange ongoing preventative maintenance services.
• Understand and work toward occupancy, revenue, and profitability targets
• Prepare weekly and monthly operations reports.

To be considered applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

(1) Both partners must be at least 21 years old and authorized to work without restriction in the United States

(2) An in depth criminal background check, employment history, driving history, and pre-employment physical will be required as a contingency to starting employment

(3) A high school diploma or equivalent is required for both partners, college degree or equivalent military, vocational/trade training, apprenticeship or on the job experience strongly preferred

(4) A signed agreement outlining the terms and conditions of occupancy must be executed by both partners prior to occupying the on site managers apartment

(5) Only applicants with prior  hospitality/lodging or closely related experience will be considered.
