Our little oasis in the desert of Southern California is looking for a new Management Team to start immediately.
This is a two (2) person Management Team position for our resort located approximately 50 miles east of Indio, CA (Coachella Valley) on Interstate 10 at Desert Center. We are a 55+ Retirement Community, Member-owned, 150 space Non-Profit Corporation with a host of amenities.
Our clubhouse, pool, spa and laundry facilities are all on site. There is a 13 acre lake to enjoy those beautiful desert sunsets, kayaking, paddle boarding or just a leisurely walk around the lake. There is also a challenging 9-hole golf course that sits adjacent to our resort, a local library and fire department. We pride ourselves on being a close-knit community of friends and family.
This team position best fits a couple with no children, as we are a retirement community, and a couple who will be friendly and occasionally involved in our activities and parties. We love to see our Managers at events!
This position is Full-Time (40 hours per week, per person) and year round. Your compensation package will include vacation time, monthly salary commensurate with experience, cell phone and car allowance. Housing is a 2 bed, 1 bath house with utilities (electric, gas, water, sewer), golf cart, Dish satellite TV and WiFi is also included in the compensation package.
This is an immediate opening, and training will be provided. Please note that these are hands-on positions. There is no additional staff to assist in performing the required tasks. In the case of large projects, park members often volunteer to assist and in some instances we hire outside vendors for repairs. Two years park Management experience preferred.
Brief outline of Management duties to be split between an Office Manager and Property Manager …
Property Manager
• Daily cleaning/ maintenance of bathrooms and showers
• Check chemical balance of pool daily, adjust as necessary and log for state requirements
• Clean, vacuum, dust clubhouse and laundry as needed
• Pool and spa daily maintenance
• Mow and edge lawns around clubhouse, Managers' home, and green belts weekly
• Weed control
• Maintain all corporate equipment
• Ensure all sprinkler heads are functioning
Office Manager
• Take reservations
• Prepare payroll checks
• Pay corporate bills
• Maintain all licenses and permits
• Maintain and update lots/homes for sale flyer
• Publish monthly newsletter (during season)
• Update LTDR website (minor updates)
• Assist with Membership
• Register guests
• Post payments in QuickBooks
• Do company banking
• Provide Monthly Reports to the Treasurer
• Perform miscellaneous secretarial duties as requested by the Board of Directors
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in QuickBooks a BIG PLUS
Please note that we are 50 miles from the nearest shopping which is just one reason our residents love this park! It’s a quiet community and very busy during our snowbird season (November thru March) with a very active membership and activities managed by our Hospitality Committee. Summer months do get hot in our area so we recommend you take advantage of our beautiful pool to cool off as often as you like!
