We have two excellent seasonal job opportunities available for a hardworking couple at our beautiful lakeside resort - Maintenance Lead and Landscaping Lead. These vital roles keep our resort operating smoothly and looking beautiful from May through October. Ideal candidates will work well together, enjoy fixing and building things, and take pride in their work. Partial training provided. MAINTENANCE LEAD:
Wage:
$36.00 /hr [No House Provided]
$26.00 /hr [House Provided]
Hours:
April 1 - October 31: 44 hrs/week
November 1 - March 31: 30 hrs/week
Minimum level of ability:
Plumbing: Intermediate (Ability to install and repair copper, pex, ABS, and plumbing fixtures; familiar with winterization)
Mechanical: Intermediate (Ability to maintain small engines and able to troubleshoot/repair basic issues)
Supervising: Intermediate (Experience supervising / directing staff)
Carpentry: Basic (Ability to install and cut/replace wood boards and panels)
Painting: Basic (Ability to paint exterior and interior of buildings)
Snow Plow Operation: Basic (Ability to operate a pickup truck with plow attachment to plow/remove snow on roadways and parking lots)

Amenities responsible for regular maintenance of includes:
Docks
Decks
Buildings (interior and exterior)

The right candidate is:
Comfortable with tight spaces (plumbing maintenance requires crawling under buildings with limited crawlspace)
Comfortable with heights (ladder work is required for painting, tree trimming, building maintenance)
Comfortable pulling out an active sewage pump for repair/maintenance
Able to work long/extended hours in the operating season (May to October), including being available for On-Call and Weekends during the operating season
Comfortable with having limited vacation time during the operating season (May to October)
Self motivated (able to find, start, and complete projects with minimal guidance)
Able to follow direction (accepts tasks and completes them in a timely manner)
Able to work in varied weather (including rain, heat, and cold)
Accepting of new and changing policies and guidelines that promote safety and resolve in the workplace
Confident giving effective direction to seasonal staff
Enjoys fixing things
Enjoys keeping busy
Comfortable regularly completing logs/checklists
LANDSCAPING LEAD:
Wage:
$22.00 /hr
Hours:
April 1 - October 31: 44 hrs/week
November 1 - March 31: No Hours
Minimum level of ability:
Landscaping: Intermediate (Experience with grass cutting, weed trimming, leaf cleanup)
Gardening: Intermediate (Experience gardening including growing/potting plants)
Chainsaw: Intermediate (Ability to safely/properly cut wood and fall trees up to 2ft in diameter)
