FEATURED JOB OPENING: Looking for Caretaker Couple - Henry Island, WA

Beautiful, serene Henry Island lies just off the northwest shore of San Juan Island and is accessed by boat or floatplane. The property includes sandy beaches, opportunities for wildlife watching (whales, eagles, and fox), endless flora and vegetation, and provides a calm, peaceful retreat for visitors and residents.

The on-site caretaker position is for two neighboring private estates on Henry Island, in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. This involves property upkeep, general maintenance, system maintenance, grounds cleanup, supervision of contracted work for significant clean up, transporting trash to San Juan recycle station, and coordinating periodic minor new construction.  

Knowledge of the maintenance and operation of equipment is required, as caretaker will attend to various watercraft, utility vehicles, and outdoor equipment. Exterior maintenance includes the hot tub, outdoor furniture, the irrigation system, cleaning of metal roofs & gutters and maintaining the dock and pier, as well as the planting and maintaining of an organic vegetable garden.

This position additionally includes housekeeping needs (cleaning and turning of houses before and after owners arrive and depart), as well as providing guest services for the owners and their friends, such as arranging deck furniture, provisioning the house and boats, setting up games, and assisting the owners and guests so that the property may be enjoyed to its fullest.  Additional event management required, including helping with parties (setup and cleanup.)

Knowledge of, and the ability to maintain the home automation, broadband, WIFI and entertainment systems would be helpful.

The keeping of expense logs and the proper upkeep of service maintenance records are essential for the property and equipment.

Compensation and Housing:

Housing and all costs associated with housing (water, telephone, electricity, heat,  Direct TV and internet services will be provided to the caretakers. Additional salary and benefits will be provided depending on experience and qualifications.
