About Blue Coyote Ranch

Blue Coyote Ranch is a beautiful 33-acre wooded guest ranch just 1.5 miles from Downtown Salida, Colorado. With 360-degreee mountain views, Blue Coyote feels like a secluded mountain resort, without sacrificing proximity to restaurants, groceries, and other conveniences.

Blue Coyote Ranch operates under a self-service model which is similar to an Airbnb model but with more services and availability for our guests. We focus much of our business on hosting weddings and groups like family reunions, corporate retreats, wellness retreats and more. Blue Coyote has a main Lodge building that can sleep 15 and 4 rental cabins that each sleep 6 for a total sleeping capacity of 39 people. We do not currently raise animals at the ranch. 

Job Opportunity 

Blue Coyote is seeking an innkeeper / property manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch. Duties include, but are not limited to housekeeping, responding to guests’ questions and needs before and during their stay, property inspections, basic maintenance, managing our small housekeeping staff, stocking supplies / inventory control, and managing reservations / third party platforms like Airbnb, VRBO, Resnexus, etc. This job has been done in the past by a single person, but we are open to the right couple sharing responsibilities. If one member of a couple is hired for the job, their partner is welcome to live with them in the cabin with prior approval from Blue Coyote. 

Ideal candidate is someone who enjoys helping others, has excellent problem-solving skills, is very organized, has a positive attitude and is flexible in unexpected circumstances. Experience in hospitality, especially working at a small inn / hostel / Airbnb is a huge plus. Experience or skills with basic home maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping and cleaning are also a plus and may provide opportunity for additional hours.

Blue Coyote Ranch is a peaceful place and ideal for anyone who enjoys access to nature. Housing is provided including all utilities. Meals are not provided. You will live in one of our “cabins” which were built in 2007 and have all the amenities of a normal house including a private kitchen. The cabin is a 2 bedroom (one is a loft), 2 bath unit, approximately 1300 square feet. You will have a private deck overlooking our beautiful pinon forest and a fenced yard perfect for a furry friend (pets must be approved in advance). Position is year-round, although busiest times are June through October, and we are ideally looking for a long-term fit. Job is W9 and will include an hourly wage in addition to housing. Wage will be based on experience starting at $16/hr. Hours average out to 20 per week – more in the busy seasons (June-October) and less in the off-season. Additional hours are available based on candidate experience and interest.
