Our Sunridge community is seeking a responsible caring married couple to job share with an existing couple, 7 days on and 7 days off, for a maximum of four men who reside in their home. The private home is located just outside the quaint college town of Ellensburg, 1.5 hours east from Seattle. The home is specifically designed to promote independent living for four men with developmental disabilities and utilizes various smart-home technologies designed to support them.
The care philosophy of the home is to encourage positive reinforcement with respect to each resident. Our houseparents are responsible for overseeing the residents established daily routines and caring for the home. We strive to integrate all the typical daily opportunities experienced by individuals into a unifying whole, so that these men’s lives are truly as rich and fulfilling as possible. The home is constructed on a large land parcel and features expansive living spaces with beautiful views.
Position Compensation starting at:
Salary per couple is $82,000 based on four residents in the house.
Regular wage increases based on hours worked along with a comprehensive benefit package including high-quality health insurance, PTO, etc.
Housing, utilities, and food are provided as well as a house SUV to drive when on-duty.
Relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Work Schedule:
Houseparents operate on a “7 days on duty and 7 days off duty” rotation.
During their 7 days on duty, the houseparents will reside in the master suite in the main house. The main bedroom is “flipped” like a hotel room between rotating couples.
Private housing is provided when off duty.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent; experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must complete the requirements to become an Individual Provider (IP) with Consumer Direct Care Network Washington (CDWA). CDWA will process background checks and all employment hiring documents. Based on this information they determine if you are eligible to become an employee of CDWA and can provide services to our residents.
Caregivers need to be physically and mentally capable of implementing each resident’s care plan which can include daily medications, personal hygiene care, behavioral support, meal planning and cooking, housework, light yard maintenance, etc. This home is a non-smoking environment.
Must be reliable, flexible, and passionate about enriching the lives of those with developmental disabilities and have the ability to work in a team environment.
