WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
HOUSEKEEPING, BASIC MAINTENANCE AND OTHER MISC. DUTIES AS NEEDED AT TETON HOSTEL in Driggs, Idaho AND THE HIDEAWAY LODGE AND HOSTEL in Island Park, Idaho
I need a couple starting ASAP untiil the end of September to work 2 days at each property on my regular helpers’ days off so you would work 4 days a week and have 3 consecutive days off to visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, go hiking, biking, kayaking, backpacking, fishing, golfing, road tripping, etc. or just chill!
I pay a salary based on average hours worked each day throughout the season.
At The Hideaway Lodge and Hostel I have 9 private rooms in the lodge and 3 shared rooms in the hostel. The average workday throughout the season is about 10 hrs. (5 hrs. each person) of cleaning, making beds, laundry, taking garbage and recycling to the landfill, stocking breakfast foods, and other misc. duties that come up occasionally. Pay at The Hideaways is $170 a day total so for the two days $340 ($170 each).
At Teton I have 5 rooms. Two large private rooms with private baths upstairs and two 6 bed dorm rooms in the basement (one mixed, one female only) and a private room with shared bath. There are about 5 hours of work a day at Teton Hostel (same duties as at Kilgore) so you could do it together and be done earlier in the day, or you could each take a day and clean while the other did their own thing! Pay at Teton is a total of $90 a day ($45 each), so $180 ($90 each) for the two days.
In addition to cleaning and making beds at both places, you would need to buy breakfast foods for each place every week. I’d also pay you for the 3-hour round trip drive to The Hideaway Lodge and Hostel plus extra for fuel to drive back and forth. So, I’d pay $130 extra for buying groceries each week: 2 hours shopping ($35), 3 hours travel time ($50) and fuel ($45).
Therefore, total pay would be $650 a week ($325 each) working on average 35 hours. Breakdown: 20 hours at Hideaway Lodge and Hostel, $340; 10 hrs. at Teton Hostel $180; 5 hours for groceries and travel time plus fuel $130.
You would live at Teton Hostel in a private room with shared bath and be able to cook and do laundry at both places. You would be given a room at The Hideaway Lodge to stay in on the one night you would be there each week.
If you have a camper van you could stay in on the day you are at The Hideaways, I would pay an additional $50 if all rooms were full, so I could rent out the room you would have stayed in. You would still have access to the house for bathrooms/cooking/laundry/chilling, etc.
It is important to note that I cannot accept any helpers with pets (unless you have an RV and have a cat. Sorry, no dogs.) I also cannot have any use of tobacco/vaping as I am allergic to cigarette smoke and even the smell of smoke on clothing makes me nauseous. Also, no drinking of alcohol is allowed at Teton Hostel as it is also my home and I do not want any drinking on the premises.
