A top domestic couple is needed to manage the homes of a prominent New York family. The couple will be based in the Hamptons year-round and will be responsible for managing properties located in the Hamptons, New York City, and Rhode Island. Private housing is provided for the couple. Ideal start date June 01, 2018.
House Manager duties:
Day to day running of residences to maintain standards and efficiency.
Provide high quality guest services in a professional, courteous and accommodating manner.
Maintenance and repair projects of the properties.
General handyman services include carpentry skills, pool maintenance, experience and knowledge of heating, plumbing, irrigation and electric systems as well as audio visual systems).
Miscellaneous house tasks such as moving furniture, outdoor furniture, handling deliveries, bringing in wood for fireplaces, hanging mirrors & snow removal.
Scheduling and supervision of household installations, trades and vendors for interior & exterior and seasonal projects.
Managing and monitoring household inventories and a budget.
Overall management of vehicles.
Assist with security responsibilities of the residence, including monitoring of electronic security systems.
General errand running.
Driving between NYC/RI/The Hamptons. Must have a valid license and a good driving record.
In addition to maintaining the private residences, the couple will be responsible for overseeing a few small rental properties owned by the family in the Hamptons (responsibilities include cleaning the rentals in between tenants, providing tenants with keys, overseeing repairs & general maintenance etc).
Housekeeper Duties:
Excellent cooking skills are necessary. Creating fresh and healthy seasonal meals.
Organizing and managing kitchen inventories.
Must have good laundry skills and be able to perform full housekeeping on properties.
Responsible for home organization.
Calendar management, coordinate with vendors.
Coordinate and assist with event planning.
Personal assistant duties including shopping, errands, and household budgets
Table and drink service, both formal and informal.
Management of décor and floral arrangements.
Packing, unpacking and transport of suitcases.
Answering the doorbell, greeting of guests and visitors as well as answering the phone.
Assistance in the organization and service during private and social events.
Pet care off dogs & cats.
Must have a valid license and a good driving record.
Job Requirements
Minimum of three (3) years similar work experience in a private household (or relevant experience).
Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience in hands-on household work and knowledge of all areas of large private residences (Fine Antique, Crystal and China / Silver Care)
Must be tech savvy (familiar with the use of smartphones, smarthome systems, etc…).
Applicants must be service oriented and self -starters.
Must be adaptable, flexible, and function effectively in a team environment.
Flexibility in the working hours, according to the employer’s needs.
Flexibility to work outside of strict job description parameters, thinking creatively about how to provide highest quality of service.
Flexibility to handle last minute changes.
Strong problem solving skills.
Have good organizational skills and attention to details.
Have a strong work ethic and communication skills.
Have the ability to work under minimal direction, be self-starter with an emphasis on client service.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Be professional, polished, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Must have a current legal working status in United States.
