FEATURED JOB OPENING: Couples (Teams) for Historic Lodge at Donner Summit, California - Cooks, Guest Services & Lodge Assistants - Norden, CA

Hospitality oriented couples/teams (or individuals) needed to reopen and operate

a rustic mountain lodge surrounded by forest.

Year Round and Seasonal Positions Open.

Lead Cook/Chef

Complimentary Dormitory Style Housing and Meals. $23.00 per hour. 

Assists in overall kitchen functions

Works with prep cooks, kitchen assistants

Participates in all cooking and preparation by staff

Assists with menu planning

Purchases supplies and equipment with direction

Maintains clean and orderly cook station, following sanitation and food preparation guidelines

Reports all inventory and supply issues to supervisor

Required:

2 years minimum experience in restaurant food preparation

Understanding of restaurant/cafe operational procedures

Able to work varying shifts, weekends, evenings and holidays in varying weather conditions

Able to stand for long periods of time

Able to work unsupervised

Able to prioritize and work in fast-paced environment

Able to give direction and work in team environment

Possess current certification from ServSafe or similarly approved sanitation and safety program

Guest Services

Complimentary Dormitory Style Housing and Meals. $21.00 per hour.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of the property, types of accommodations, rental operations, package plans, and facilities.

Group sales, booking, billing, and services contact.

Takes reservations ensuring high levels of guest service and satisfaction.

Check guests in and out, including preparation of guest bills and authorizing payments.

Responsible for cash handling including rental services, retail and reservations reporting.

Knowledge of general information concerning rates, rules and regulations, hours of operation, and any special events or activities.

Displays a pro-active and leading role in terms of service, culture, development, team image, systems, procedures and skill development.

Ensures prompt and courteous service to all guests. Resolves guest disputes in a diplomatic consistent manner as developed by management.

Maintains proper controls for safeguarding assets, including but not limited to the rentals, retail inventory, equipment and supplies.

Maintains a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and customers.

Communicates efficiently and timely with management.

Assist in training new Guest Services staff as necessary.

Exceeds the guests’ expectations whenever possible.

Lodge Assistant

Complimentary Dormitory Style Housing and Meals. $17.00 per hour.

Assist in daily operations in Housekeeping, Food Service, Front Desk and Maintenance Departments

Reset sleeping quarters for incoming guests

Perform food prep, service and cleanup tasks for all guest meals

Answer phone and email inquiries while processing new reservations

Check guests in and out while performing concierge type services

Perform daily tasks to maintain lodge grounds

Willing and able to assist a wide variety of tasks

Excellent communication skills

Ability to obtain accurate information over the phone

Able to stand for long periods of time

Able to work unsupervised

Able to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment

Able to follow direction and work in a team environment

Genuine concern for guests’ experience essential

Willing and able to work varying shifts, weekends, splits, evenings and holidays
