FEATURED JOB OPENING: Couple to Assist at Lodge in Colorado Mountains

We are a small family run cabin property with located near Wolf Creek Ski Area located approximately 17 miles up the mountain and central to all outdoor sports year round.  See our web site at (see below). Our location is 8250' above sea level. **Please do not apply for this position if you have health issues affected by altitude and/or cold climate.

Opening is for an assistant innkeeper couple to work all aspects of the business including, but not limited to cleaning, laundry, front desk, help with minor repairs, errands, painting, guest relations, more. Offers studio apartment type set up, 5 hours per person per week in exchange for housing (housing includes utilities, use of phones/local calls, free wifi, cable TV, use of laundry facilities). All other hours will be paid hours.  Hours will vary from 30-40 hours per person per week in season and 20-30 hours in off season (April/May 15, this is also when we are able to take scheduled vacation time). Some peak weeks you may be asked to work more than 40 hours according to guest traffic (and paid accordingly). Peak times are Christmas Break, Spring Break, July, during reunions, some 3 day holidays.

Our staff is aged 42-58 and we are health conscious. Our innkeeper enjoys skiing, hiking, whitewater, fishing, snorkeling, biking, and is an outdoor enthusiast. We live in a gorgeous place. Our town is small.  Location is outdoor sports oriented at 8200’ elevation near ski mountain and a top golf course.  Area offers all outdoor sports: snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, ice climbing, mountain biking, hiking, all kinds of fishing, 4 wheeling, ATVing … all the outdoor sports, we go from one season to another of sports. 

We seek people with smiles and a “can do” attitude.  Looking for team players willing to work at anything needing attention from painting inside/out, lawns, organic gardening, quilting, window cleaning, caulking, grouting, minor repairs, hot tub maintenance, carpet cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, front desk, If anything needs done, you must be willing to cheerfully take care of it.   You will need to be great with people, genuinely happy people with smiles and "can do" attitudes, no smoking, no problem drinkers, happy and willing to work at *any* task, must love animals.  Experience has taught us only happy flexible people fit in here and we will, unfortunately, not be able to keep anyone with less than cheerful attitudes coming here to work and live. Non smokers only, no problem drinkers, no drug use ... no exception.

Only those able to take direction and then work independently to follow through on those directions will be considered. We require self starters able to organize work needing done, then carry out the work efficiently and quickly.   Pay is $7.50 per hour (per person) .The couple hired for this position will be considered essential personnel and must be very responsible, guest service oriented and willing to go the extra mile if/when required. Housing includes cable TV, wifi, local telephone, utilities, use of snowshoes when not in use. Desired hours will be negotiated with you prior to hiring with the understanding there can be some variation in the number of hours according to our occupancy.Actual hours worked may vary according to guest needs (may be a few hours more or less in any given week according to guest and property needs). Although we will try to adhere to a schedule, we need to remain flexible as to actual hours worked. The best example might be if we agreed to a 40 hour week, one week could be 38 hours with the next week being 42 hours (with the goal to provide a 40 hour week if that is what we negotiated). We will strive to meet a schedule but experience has taught us there are variations from week to week. The general hours we work are anywhere from 8am to 9pm (the hours we are open) although most work is done between the hours of 10am-5pm. We work weekends and holidays. In peak times we may work more than 5 days in a week. Sometimes there are guest tips.

Our property is focused on healthy living. We have shifted to almost entirely homemade cleaning products. In the future we would like to consider adding an organic greenhouse, make quilts for our rooms and consider recycling type projects.
