Caretaker or Caretaker Couple – Kelowna, British Columbia

We are seeking a trustworthy, experienced, hardworking, organized and self-motivating caretaker, or caretaker couple, for a long-term position to manage and maintain a beautiful home, on a large acreage, in the pristine Okanagan region.

General administrative duties will be required, including payment of utilities and other bills; reporting and budgeting of monthly expenditures; receiving and delivering items via mail/courier; maintaining supplies; airport transfers for owner and guests; scheduling and supervising various trades and housekeeping. It is anticipated that housekeeping will be farmed out, but there is some flexibility.

The outside component of the role will include plowing the driveway, maintaining the hot tub, cutting grass, pressure washing decks, draining the irrigation system in the fall and keeping property near the home cleared of fallen trees and branches.

The inside role will involve regular walkthroughs to ensure proper operation and function of the home and its components. Key focus will be upon proper operation of the water system, heating and air conditioning, internet, telephone and entertainment systems. In addition, there will be various other maintenance items to deal with from time to time and periodic repairs and/or modifications.

Security is another important aspect of the role and the caretaker, or caretaker couple, will be provided with a large well-appointed 1 bedroom apartment on the property.

Other tasks include ensuring vehicles are properly maintained and washed as required. Vehicles include: a car, a truck, tractors, ATVs etc. In addition, various ad hoc projects as required by the owner will need to be supervised.

Applicants must be qualified to work in Canada and have a clean driving and criminal history. A competitive compensation package will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
