Sunridge Ranch II is seeking a responsible, caring married couple to become house parents (HP's) for a rotation of 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. Sunridge Ranch II, located in Ellensburg Washington, two hours east of Seattle. Sunridge Ranch II was specifically created to promote independent living for four young men with autism and other developmental disabilities.
The mission of Sunridge Ranch II is to provide a life sharing home focusing on living as independently as possible in a safe, caring home. The care philosophy of Sunridge Ranch II emphasizes encouragement and positive reinforcement with support and respect for each resident. Our respite houseparents are responsible for overseeing their established daily routines while caring for the home. We strive to integrate daily opportunities that a typical person might experience into a unifying whole, so that life is truly as rich and fulfilling as possible.
While on duty HP's will enjoy the luxury of a fabulous home on over 17 acres overlooking the Badger Pocket. The HP's suite offers a private closet, private patio and beautiful bath. The home has a media room, gymnasium, gorgeous outdoor living space and private suites for each resident owner.
Position salary is $48,150.00 PLUS $1000.00 monthly housing stipend ($60,150.00 total) per couple.
Clients you are caring for attend an offsite support program for 4 hours per day (* may vary) M-F year round. HP's are responsible for dropping them off in the morning with a Sunridge II provided vehicle and picking them up in the afternoon. The support program is approximately 4 miles from Sunridge II. It does occasionally close for inclement weather.
Qualifications:
*Must meet the training requirements to become a Washington State Individual Provider (IP). Each HP will complete 75 hours of paid training to meet the requirements. Placement shall be contingent upon the results of a Washington State background check. Must have a valid Driver's License and First Aid/CPR certification.
*A high school diploma or equivalent, experience working with developmentally disable individuals preferred but no required.
*Caregivers need to be physically and mentally capable performing residents care plan which includes individual personal hygiene, meal planning, cooking, light housework and light yard maintenance.
*Ability to recognize natural teaching opportunities and act on them. Ability to handle personal care tasks with sensitivity.
*Must be reliable, flexible and have the ability to work well with others.
