For over a hundred years, New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home has brought hope to thousands of hurting children and families. Houseparents are on the frontlines of this mission field as they minister and care for the children entrusted to them.

NMBCH is currently seeking married couples to serve in the role of travel Houseparents for it's campuses located in Portales and Alamogordo, NM. Houseparents must have a strong calling on their lives to work with children who have endured trauma. They must be willing to embrace the challenges and opportunities in ministering to children from hard places.

Potential candidates must be committed Christians and are expected to be actively involved in a Southern Baptist Church. While some of our houseparent roles allow for dependent children and pets, the travel houseparent role is unique and will require a married couple with no dependent children or pets. 

Houseparents live in a large home provided on the NMBCH campus and parent up to 9 resident children. Houseparents work an appealing 16.5 days on and 7.5 days off schedule.

Alamogordo, NM has a semi-arid desert climate. The NMBCH campus is located in a rural area at the base of the Sacramento Mountains. Within a short distance there are numerous hiking trails, White Sands National Park, Lincoln National Forest and a national solar observatory.
