Tennessee Family Solutions is currently seeking to hire dedicated, compassionate, full-time Family Teaching Couples (House Managers) for the Nashville & Smyrna, TN areas. This position will report to the Program Director. This is a salaried-exempt position with generous benefits offered that may also include housing and basic utilities paid for if the right couples are hired. This is a lifestyle/career and not just a typical job. Work schedule usually consists of Monday-Friday, although a minimum of 55-60 hours is usually required weekly with some flexibility offered. Additional hours could be required depending on other needs of the assigned house including staffing needs/requirements. This may include weekends and some holidays as needed.
Mission: To assure the proper operation of the Teaching Family Home in order to provide the best quality of life achievable by implementation of the Teaching Family Model of care for adults with severe and profound Developmental Disabilities and Mental Retardation/Illness.
Responsibilities include:
1) Manages and supervises all financial and budget transactions, services, appointments, and activities occurring in their assigned program (house) location.
2) Teaches new skills and managing behaviors to maximize independence in activities of daily living with the clients.
3) Supervises staff of 1 to 6 (in most settings) to ensure proper operation of the Teaching Family Home in all aspects.
4) Maintains compliance with various federal and state regulations, TFS' adaptation of the Teaching Family model, and other various TFS policies/procedures.
5) Behavior exhibits professional attitude, demeanor, and interpersonal skills required by position and company.
6) Must be detailed and timely with all documentation and other required and assigned paperwork.
7) Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications include:
* High School diploma or GED Equivalent required; some college preferred.
* Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and MUST BE MARRIED.
* The ability to perform direct care with adults with various severe and profound levels of Developmental Disabilities.
* The ability to learn a behavioral curriculum and achieve certification as a Family Teaching Couple.
* The ability to communicate through verbal and written mediums everyday.
* The ability to observe, ask questions, listen actively, and give and accept feedback effectively.
* A high energy level, adaptability, assertiveness, patience and ability to work in a team environment.
* Knowledge of computers, specifically Microsoft applications.
* Ability to work autonomously.
* Flexibility in assigned working hours and conditions.
* Critical time management and follow-up skills with ability to plan, organize and prioritize a large workload, and handle several tasks simultaneously.
* Operation of a motor vehicle is required which includes: proof of a current, valid driver's license, current automobile liability insurance for state of Tennessee, and a clean, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
* Must be able to pass thorough criminal background checks, including the possibility of a financial credit check conducted as well, in addition to a pre-employment drug screen paid for by the agency.
