WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Do you and your spouse desire to make a profound difference in the world through
hands-on work with children? Interested in being trained in research-supported
techniques for helping youth achieve success? Seeking professional growth for a
career in social work or family counseling? Enjoy being part of a team and greater
organization that prides itself on exceptional care, services, and a distinguished
success rate?
Utah Youth Village is looking for caring, enthusiastic, and self-motivated couples to
be the primary live-in caretakers and treatment practitioners for up to six children,
ages 5-13.
The youth in our homes display behaviors consistent with major depressive
disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, developmental delays and other
emotionally disruptive conditions. Such behaviors often prevent youth from
functioning as a part of a family unit, leaving them at risk for missing out on healthy
family life. In our care, the youth work to develop impulse control, emotional control,
sustainable relationships, social skills, and more. Whenever possible, their parents
are involved in their treatment.
In this pair-position, you would serve as the primary members of a caring team,
including a few support staff, a home therapist, and an experienced home
consultant, which provides the youth with crucial treatment without sacrificing a
sense of home. Through your example, these youth can learn both what healthy
family living looks like and how to participate in it. Playing your part in healing and
elevating the lives of these youth will prepare them to be healthy members of their
own families, carrying on what they have learned. This is why our founder believed
that when you “help one child,” you “help generations to come.”
