Main Position needing to fill - Executive Chef. Other positions we are looking to fill for the partner are a Sous Chef.
Executive Chef - Seasonal Position must be available from June 12th - September 8th, 2021
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare all meals for guests of the Lodge that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but a variety each day. The typical meals expected, but not limited to, are the following:
- BREAKFAST: A hot made to order breakfast daily for Lodge’s guests,
- LUNCH: Prepare sandwiches and salads for the boxed lunches; Prepare lunch for those guests that remain in house or that return for lunch (3-Courses – soup/salad, main and dessert)
- DINNER: 4-course sit down dinner: 3-4 Appetizers (buffet style); starter, main entrée and dessert all plated and served.
- Expected to accommodate any special dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Execute dishes/meals and service in a timely manner
- Maintaining the rotation of product
- Responsible for all weekly food and beverage purchases
- Manage the Lodge Kitchen and Staff;
- Collaborate with the Front Room Manager
- At the end of the day, oversees clean up and ensures that kitchen and front room is ready for the following day.
- Responsible to provide meals for kitchen staff as well as dinner for other staff members.
- Adhering to the Federal Safety standards and State and Federal Health Regulations, and making sure that the Kitchen and Service Staff is adhering as well.
- May also be in charge of interviewing, hiring and training new kitchen personnel.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Excellent guest relation skills – Able to anticipate guests’ needs
- Hospitality and/or Customer Service industry experience
- Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously with professionalism and efficiency.
- Self-motivated to find practical solutions for situations that may arise.
- Act as a team player with all levels of the staff and to lead by example.
- Willing and enthusiastic to embrace the rural island lifestyle and culture
- Flexibility – there are times when team members may need to perform other duties outside their described responsibilities.
General Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in standing position for extensive periods of time, climb stairs, bend/twist at the waist
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Use hands to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Compensation:
- Salary: $945-$1120 (USD) weekly based on experience and ability to perform all responsibilities
- Travel to and from the Lodge from the lower 48.
- Room and Lodging and all meals provided (Only living expense will be personal items i.e.: toiletries, clinic visits, medicines, special food/beverage requests)
- Laundry facilities (including detergent) are provided along with bedding and towels.
- Gratuity that is built into the all-inclusive packages. And any additional gratuities that are given directly to you by guests.
