Equine Estate Couple Team needed to live on a rural 100 acre property and handle all aspects of horse care and management including but not limited to; groundskeeping, building maintenance, care for the property, structures, a variety of Horses and other pets while providing hospitality to the family when they are in residence. The family has their own particular style of training (and their own trainer) and need a hands-on management couple with equine skills and the willingness to adopt the owners’ particular style of horse handling and training. Couple must have experience managing a property and working as a team with excellent horsemanship skills. 

The number of horses will vary depending on the season and occupancy of property. Approximately 4 full time retirees and up to 5 additional horses seasonally; ability to drive a truck and gooseneck horse trailer is a requirement: possible travel and hauling required.

Candidates must be able to plan for and perform much of the maintenance on primary residence, barns, outbuildings, machinery and equipment, to ensure that all assets are maintained  to the highest standards to ensure longevity. Candidates must have a love for this life style, and find joy in working with horses and have pride in maintaining an estate to the highest standards; this is not a job, but a life style. A positive attitude and ability to work with owners , as well as independently, is paramount.

This position will demand a high degree of professionalism and discretion as the family value their privacy greatly. Position requires an ability to manage the other staff (number to be determined) in a team like manner, control budgets and keep good records of all horses and projects on the property, interacting with other staff to coordinate calendars and schedules. 

It will be the responsibility of the managers to ensure that the estate residence is maintained and a degree of housekeeping and hospitality will be required. An eye for detail is paramount in order to maintain the entire property to the owners’ standards. Salary is commensurate with experience and housing will be provided.
