WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

Private family seeks a proactive, dynamic, and experienced couple to oversee, manage, cook, clean, and maintain their residences in Florida and in the Hamptons. The couple will travel between both residences, from early October to mid-May. 
 
The ideal couple must be proactive in their role as house couple. This position requires that the couple work and communicate with other staff regarding satisfying household duties, so good communication and organizational skills are a must.
 
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Managing and providing full-time care of the family’s residence
• Cleaning, dusting, and polishing throughout the home with attention to, bedrooms, special surfaces and fixtures, etc.
• Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with clean linens, toiletries, and other supplies
• Making beds and changing linens
• Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry
• Ironing clothing items
• Preparing and serving meals in private home according to family’s recipes or tastes, handling all meals for the family and possibly for other household staff (casual breakfasts, lunches and dinners)
• Cooking (barbecuing, pizza making, healthy farm-to-table cuisine)
• Planning prep and oversight of dinner parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions and other household events.
• Direct the operation and organization of kitchen and all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food. 
• Personal shopping, running errands, stock procurement and special requests, etc.
• Heavy organization throughout the home including pantries, kitchen, closets, etc.
• Ability to work in tandem with vendors, contractors, other domestic staff, etc.
• Washing windows
• Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
• Sweeping/vacuuming, polishing, and mopping hard floors
• Cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces
• Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste
• Steaming and cleaning draperies
• Washing blinds
• Driving the principals as needed upon request
• Handling all light handy work
• General maintenance of house and appliances
• Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements
• Any and all other duties or requests related to the needs of the principals and household
 
Requirements:
• Fluent in English; excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers; longevity idea
• Minimum 5 - 10 years related experience serving as a Domestic Couple for a private family or in a similar role
• Knowledge of general First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; able to work with and oversee additional household staff
• Knowledge with formal and informal food service
• Ability to perform formal and informal food and beverage service, setting tables and arranging flowers
• Strong housekeeping experience; museum quality cleaning
• Hands-on interior and exterior maintenance and overseeing vendors and contractors as needed
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; over-achieving attitude
• Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to work long hours and over time as needed
• Valid Driver’s License; clean driving record with zero points on license.
• Valid Passport; willing and able to travel with the family
• Legally able to work within the United States
 
• Excellent references required
 
Salary: Starting rate of pay will be based on level of experience.
