This position is needed May to September of 2023, can be extended, and can a single individual. Duties include overseeing a very busy day use area, instructing guests how to use the automated pay station, issuing Corps Annual Passes, checking vehicle paid status in lot, and providing visitor information and assistance. No cash handling required. Office provided. This position will coordinate with another volunteer to ensure maximum coverage of the area, including holiday work. Volunteer site, measuring 42’x12’, does not have sewer, but a dump station is in close proximity.
Dale Hollow Lake is a beautiful, crystal-clear lake surrounded by forested hillsides and is known for a variety of water and land-based recreation opportunities including fishing, boating, and camping just to name a few. We also lay claim to the world record small mouth bass and the best lake-front camping in the region. Dale Hollow is a vacation destination and is centrally located about a 2-hour drive from Lexington, KY and Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, TN. The region offers a wide diversity of cultural, recreational, and entertainment opportunities.
Volunteer hours traded for site with utilities and opportunity to live in the park during volunteer term. Site is included with water, electric and dump station nearby. Laundry in the park is included and free Wi-Fi is available near the registration center. The offset for the camping site for long-term volunteers will have a value exceeding $6,000.
A background check will be required for each long-term volunteer.
