WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
We are a family-run orchard & country inn, and we are looking for two hardworking, detail oriented couples to join our team. We have multiple facets to our operation. The inn consists of 9 rooms/casitas and offers nutritious farm-to-table dining while attracting down-to-earth visitors. We are all about hospitality and have a “Certified Excellence” rating on Trip advisor. The orchard consists of about 900 stone fruit & citrus trees and a 11,000 sq ft garden growing veggies and herbs. We have a strong commitment to regenerative and organic practices. We are located 5 miles from the West Entrance of Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness Area, which is about 1.5 hours NE of Tucson, and 2 hours SE of Phoenix. Nearby towns include Oracle, Catalina, Mammoth, Winkelman, Globe, Superior.
We are looking for 4 people to help us fill the following full-time positions:
-
Cook & housekeeping assistance (x1-2 people) - You will be responsible for cooking 3-course dinners using produce grown onsite 3-4 nights per week, as well as preparing in-room continental breakfasts and fresh sack lunches. We will teach you our recipes, inspired by the desert southwest and our seasonal produce. Our nightly capacity ranges from 2-20 people. When you're not cooking, you will help with housekeeping and gardening tasks for several hours per day.
-
Garden, orchard & landscape assistance - You will be responsible for managing the garden and landscaping needs, and helping in the orchard. You must have previous gardening experience, and crop rotation / seasonal planning experience is a huge plus. Our garden provides produce for our cooking at the inn year round, and extras are sold at the farmers market. You will help with orchard pruning, irrigation, weeding, harvesting, etc. Experience with chickens is also a plus but not required.
-
Housekeeping & innkeeping assistance - You will be responsible for housekeeping of the casitas and common areas on a daily basis. You will also help our innkeeper with general hospitality needs, including preparation for guests, check in/check out, taking reservations, managing payments and invoicing of guests, etc.
-
Maintenance & basic construction assistance - General handyman/woman skills are always necessary, from fixing something in the casitas to repairing irrigation in the orchard. We occasionally have small construction projects as well, depending on the season.
All staff are expected to help with housekeeping and garden work on a regular basis as needed. Our rushes often come in 1-3 week long pushes so we have to turn the entire property over quickly and must work as a team to do so. No task is below you, and egos have no place here.
You will join a current team of 4 staff living onsite, including our current innkeepers, chef, and business development manager. We are great friends and coworkers to each other and look forward to welcoming you into the team.
We have full hook ups for two staff RV sites that give you plenty of privacy. Ideally, you will bring your own trailer or RV to live in.
All food, utilities, internet, and cable TV are paid for while living onsite. $1750 per couple per month to start, with opportunities for raises as the season progresses. Tips are sometimes left by guests and then split with the team, but they are not common.
Season is August through June, with a year round possibility. 40 hour work weeks on average (some weeks are busier than others depending on occupancy) with 8 days off per month. Your schedule each week will depend on guest occupancy and is always subject to change, although we try to keep it predictable whenever possible. You must be able to work holidays.
You must have your own reliable vehicle that can handle a hilly, dirt road and a small creek crossing (6-10 inches of water, typically). Valid driver’s license is required, and you must be able to pass a background & reference check.
