WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Caretaker/Property Manager Wanted: We are a private, family-oriented hunting and fishing club located in a quiet, rural setting in southern Roscommon County. The property consists of more than 2500 diverse and forested acres with streams and trout ponds throughout. We are looking for a mature, experienced and motivated couple to fill the role and live onsite.
There are 15 privately owned cabins, several miles of two-track trails, several out buildings and a caretaker’s home (2 bedroom). The position requires the individuals to be physically able to work outdoors in all types of Michigan weather and on uneven terrain. Duties include road, tree and fence maintenance and overall upkeep and security of the property.
The ideal candidates will have experience in similar situations in working for or managing a rural property. They must be able to work unsupervised and be able to complete work in a timely manner. They will have experience in operating and maintaining a tractor, plow truck and other equipment as well as possess handyman and general carpentry skills. Wildlife and forestry management and or wildlife food-plot farming experience is a plus.
The position is complete with salary, housing, utilities and other benefits. This is a long-term opportunity. Retirees are welcome to apply and you must be willing to relocate to the property. Due to the remote nature, couples willing to relocate are preferred. Candidates must be able to work in the United States, possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and be drug free. A thorough background check and drug test(s) will be conducted for pre-employment analysis. References related to work experience and overall character are required
