Caretaker Couple - Sundre, near Red Deer, AB

  Our clients are seeking an experienced, energetic, hardworking and proactive couple (or single) for a long term position to maintain their beautiful, privately owned 320 acre ranch.

You will reports to the owners, andbe expected to ensure that the boilers are in continuous working order, mow lawns, mend barbed wire fences; be responsible for the care of furnishings and finishes with correct application of products and care; manage the seasonal deep clean and special projects required; participate with housekeeping; and including laundry of bed linens; help with occasional entertaining and provide pet care. A love of animals is a MUST.

In addition you will regularly maintain the gardens and greenhouse, provide vehicle management and occasional driver duties;  assist with security responsibilities of the residence including monitoring of electronic security systems and follow up of any alarms while on duty and other duties as assigned.

 You will be capable of handling and maintaining farm equipment including a 6000 series John Deere tractor with attachments, John Deere riding lawn mower, quads, and other such equipment. Carpentry skills is an asset as there is a large amount of natural wood requiring upkeep.

 You must be physically fit (a physician’s written approval is required); be able to reach and lift medium weight objects and able to do ladder work. You must be able to walk for 8 hours, climb stairs, bend, and perform repetitive motions; have a valid driver’s license and submit a drivers abstract.

 Candidates will have a clean background check; possess strict confidentiality and sign a non-disclosure agreement. Knowledge of security systems is important but will train. Applicants must be self-motivated, adaptable, flexible, and function effectively. You must possess good communication skills both verbal and written.You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in successful property maintenance with available references.

This opportunity includes the prospect of re-developing the existing summer cattle program to another level for the right talent.

As this position requires the candidate(s) to live on the property, our client will provide a separate new 1500 sq. ft. residence. It is expected that the property will be maintained to the owner’s standards and will be subject to periodic inspections. They will also provide a compensation package, and a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience.
