Looking for a couple who have experience in organic small scale gardening, grounds work, and some horse experience. This is a 4 acre Trout farm that is one mile away from the main horse farm, A family-run retirement and non profit horse rescue facility. Job could involve some feeding and some care of the horses but no riding is necessary.
I can offer a small salary, depending on skills. Ideallly, I'd like to find someone who is looking to live a self sustaining lifestyle, has the skills and motivation, just lacks the land and equipment to do it! I'm open to putting in a green house, buying milking goats and chickens etc...
In addition, skills with carpentry and quipment maintenance would be great. The living arrangement is the upstairs of a large barn. It has a new kitchen and bathroom with wood floors but somewhat unfinished. It could be finished out nicely. We are located in an absolutly beautiful area. Summers are comfortable!! We are located close to the nationally acclaimed Rails to Trails Virginia Creeper bike trail, as well as, tubing, canoeing, kayaking the New River. There's fly fishing, antiques, four star restaurants, Blue Grass Mountain music....and more...
