Description: The Civitan Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing our community an accessible, safe and affordable environment while delivering superior life experiences to enhance the quality of life to individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages. It is our goal to provide accessible recreation and educational experiences to people of all abilities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual or couple who’s ready to grow with our thriving programs.
Within this role, the Director will be responsible for the direct management of the northern division of two of Civitan’s most esteemed programs. During the summer months (June, July and August) and select weekends throughout the year, the Director will oversee Camp Civitan, a residential camp program for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Program capacity ranges from 80-100 participants per session. This program offers campers a variety of enriching and fun experiences that promote positive self-esteem, teamwork, socialization, and healthy activities. From September through May, the Director will manage the Williams campus of the Civitan Learning Center, a unique state of the art college partnership program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program provides transitional, post-secondary education and career training in a residential college setting. Program capacity will range from 24-36 students per semester.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of staff for camp and college operations.
- Design and implement a marketing plan to increase camper attendance and facility usage.
- Develop and implement crisis and risk management procedures.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the grounds, facilities and equipment – assuring optimum care and usages.
- Purchase of equipment and supplies through approval of Executive Director and Board.
- Develop and maintain new programs.
- Oversee the financial management and fund development operations to allow for adequate funding and to meet long-term goals.Oversee the daily operation of summer resident camp, and year-round college program—including food service, program, business, client and staff supervision and health care.
- Manage property development and maintenance needs to ensure stewardship of current resources and identification of future needs.
- Provide case management for participants, providing regular contact and support for clients.
- Manage/supervise the selection and hiring of all facility staff.
- Manage program partner relationships.
- Promote Civitan Foundation, Inc. in the community, and maintain positive parent, public, and community relations.
- Ensure DES/DDD regulations are met, required reports completed, and all paperwork in order for annual inspection.
- Grow program occupancy in line with our strategic plan by 2015 .
Qualifications:
- Experience with special needs individuals and program development.
- Experience in business management, property development, and fund-raising.
- Must possess strength in sales & marketing new business along with strong organizational skills.
- Experience with programming and administering programs that reflect the populations served by the Civitan Foundation, Inc.
- Organized and detailed with demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Applicant must be mature, self-starter with at least three years of camp or residential management experience, five years leadership experience, knowledge of camp regulations and ACA requirements, positive spirit, conflict resolution skills, First Aid / CPR Certified, finger-print clearance, general knowledge of facility management.
- Creativity and openness to expressing new ideas and capacity to produce questions that will further the mission of the Civitan Foundation, Inc.
- Ability to speak and write the English language with professional level skill is required.Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- The individual must show respect for other employees, associates, guests and the goals and objectives of the Civitan Foundation, Inc.
- Current driver's license and valid auto insurance coverage required.
- Must live on site Williams Arizona ( rural)
Primary Purpose: To further the mission of Camp Civitan and Civitan Learning Center through the development and management of programs, human resource, financial, marketing and strategic operations.The Director is expected to operate consistently within the standards, mission program guidelines and philosophy of the Civitan Foundation, Inc. at all times.
