Redwood National and State Parks is seeking enthusiastic volunteer campground hosts at Gold Bluffs Beach Campground for 2021. Campground hosts perform a variety of duties including light maintenance, selling firewood, reporting safety concerns, checking in campers, and providing park information to visitors. Volunteers are needed starting immediately and will work 20 to 30 hours per week. Individuals are welcome to apply, but couples are encouraged and able to split the duties and hours.
Gold Bluffs Beach is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to boondock camp in their self contained camper van or RV for free, with the added benefit of water and sewage hookups. The campground also includes free, on demand hot water showers and Verizon/AT&T cell coverage. Limited wifi is available at the bathrooms.
Gold Bluffs Beach Campground lies at the end of a narrow road and is a smaller campground. This naturally limits host vehicles in size to an approximate maximum length of 35'. Couples or individuals in camper vans and short RVs would fit very well, while small trailers (19' or less) work as well.
