Camp Hosts at a Small Campground w/ HOT SPRINGS - Truth or Consequences, NM
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
We are accepting applications for a highly coveted Camp Host(s) position. Well-behaved pets also welcome (2 max). Start date is June 5, but are open to later start dates. The position if for June, July, & August, 2023.
You: Have your own RV/Van/Trailer to live in. Have some experience as camp hosts or property managers or similar. Are friendly and truly care about the experience of guests. Know how to light a camp fire, don’t mind cleaning two bathrooms 1-2 days per week. Bonus points if you are handy with light maintenance projects. Must be comfortable text messaging with guests about their arrivals times, and using google sheets. Ideally, you love Hot Springs and will enjoy getting to soak on the daily!
Us: Hot Springs Glamp Camp is a desert oasis, located in the downtown Truth or Consequences, New Mexico- a small funky, friendly artist community. Walking distance to grocery, brewery, restaurants, pool, gym, river, thrift stores, etc. We have 5 Glamping accommodations, 6 Camp Spots, and attract very cool guests and visitors, nomads, and Glampers. We pride ourselves on cleanliness, and the welcoming, peaceful, friendly vibe at camp.
Summer is our slow season, so there is lots of down time (we recommend afternoon Siestas). You are welcome to explore the area during the day- tubing the river, swimming at the pool, frisbee golf, normal golf, the brewery and hiking/biking are all camp host favorites. It is hot but dry during the day, beautiful temps at night (if heat is challenging for you, this probably isn’t a good fit.)
The Exchange: Camp Hosts primary responsibilities are:
- Communicate with & greet guests and give them a comfortable, welcoming experience.
- Keep the grounds clean and operating smoothly
Includes pprox. 1 hr of light duties in the morning (contacting arriving guests for ETA, walking the grounds, take out trash, straighten up common areas, water plants). On duty again for guest check-ins from approx. 3pm-8pm (not this entire time, only as guests arrive); greeting guests, guiding them to their spaces, and giving them a quick tour. No need to hover after that: start a fire in the evenings, socialize if you like or not, but we just ask that you be on-call for emergencies. 5 days of work per week, 2 days off.
This is in exchange for an onsite campsite with full hook-ups, high-speed wifi, laundry, and all the hot springs soaks you desire. You also have use of the air conditioned office space/healing room (many of our camp hosts appreciate this - use it for yoga, office, music studio, watch movies, etc) We also provide a stipend of $100/week, and pay $20 per hour for maintenance projects and housekeeping (up to 10 hours per week). Camp hosts average a total income of $200/per week, including stipend. This is an independent contractor position, you will be asked to complete a w-9 upon hiring.
