We are looking for an honest and dependable camp host(s) to stay right on the beautiful St. Joe River in Avery, Idaho. We offer a number a benefits with this position including a place to stay, income potential and light work load. Additional opportunities for special projects for experienced team members. There is a gift shop, gas pumps and small grocery store in town.
POSITION SUMMARY: Ideal for a couple with their own RV interested in a quiet beautiful scenic setting! The remote town of Avery, Idaho is along the St. Joe River and surrounded by the St. Joe National Forest. Lots of outdoor activities - fly fishing, hunting, hiking, site seeing, river rafting and The Route of the Hiawatha Bike trail is 7 miles away. This is a small RV/Cabin park with 11 RV spaces and 4 cabins. As the reservations are intermittent we will need flexibility where there may be days that all cabins will need to be prepared for new guests arriving the same day. On other days there will be little to no work required since the cabins will be empty or not need cleaning. The RV spaces are typically filled with long term stays and require little oversight. The scope of work required will include, cleaning the cabins (linens, bathrooms, beds, floors, kitchen, light maintenance), welcoming guests, answering questions, taking garbage to local refuse at the end of town, watering flowers/lawn, mowing the grass, report on supplies, collect funds and ensure the guests are taken care of. We also sell ice. The goal is to keep our guests happy and the facility clean and welcoming. You will be the only on site hosts. This position requires you to stay from May 18, 2018 until Oct 14, 2018.
Site hosts work a minimum of 15 hours per week (including weekends and holidays). Hosts may take time off during slow times in between reservations (special arrangements must be made in advance). Honesty and dependability are critical for this position.
Special Projects: These projects can be structured to the volunteer’s interests and talents and are compensated separately from the duties above.
