Camp Caretaker(s) - Reading, MA

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) serves thousands of girls, volunteers, and groups at our beautiful camp facilities. We now have an opening for an on-site Caretaker at Camp Rice Moody located on eight forested acres in a residential area in Reading, MA.

The on-site Caretaker is a non-salaried position with the understanding that the value of housing is in exchange for caretaking duties performed. The Caretaker will be allowed to live rent-free in a cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bath home located on the property and be expected to provide caretaking services at a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Caretaking duties include:

• Check in/out Girl Scout Troops and other groups authorized to use premises; provide security by patrolling buildings/grounds; arrange for repairs; perform some minimal maintenance; ensure year-round site access; prepare buildings to include cleaning of cabins and tent sites, snow removal in the winter; and assist at special events.
• Background checks, including a pre-placement physical, are required. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
