We are hiring an onsite guest host/caretaker and property maintenance manager for our boutique hotel/resort outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. The roles could be filled by a couple, or two friends, ideally we are looking for a two-person team of some sort. Housing is provided for one or both individuals onsite in a 3-bedroom home with full kitchen, living room, and large loft, all situated along the scenic Big Thompson River and just a few minutes outside of the Park.
Ideal candidates are outdoors-lovers with strong connections to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Estes Park community, handy with day-to-day maintenance tasks, have keen attention to detail, and love sharing local knowledge with visitors from around the world. We are ideally looking for a long-term working relationship to stay in the role for hopefully many years to come.
Our historic boutique hotel has 15 cabins, suites, and tiny homes all situated along the river, spread out across 5 scenic acres with trails connecting them and other unique features. Our guests love fly fishing along the river, exploring the park and surrounding National Forests, and spending time in Estes.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
ROLE 1: GUEST HOST
Great customer service skills and a warm, engaging, and friendly disposition.
Experience in any professional client, guest, or customer-facing role preferred, including but not limited to: former National Park Service rangers and employees, teachers, servers, sales folks, hotel staffers, retail managers, and beyond.
Someone with close ties to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Estes Park community.
A love for the outdoors, travel, and nature, with a drive to provide guests a great experience.
Self-starting and able to work with little oversight. A strong work ethic and a track record of being dependable and conscientious.
Comfortable with multi-tasking, with the ability to prioritize based on guest needs and importance when things get busy.
Top-notch communication skills (written and verbal) with a knack for speaking with people from all walks of life.
Desire to learn new things quickly, and enthusiasm for teaching others.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Flexibility: Requires a lot of on-site time.
Spanish a plus!
ROLE 2: PROPERTY MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Skills: Handy, water systems knowledge a plus, ability to address and fix minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other issues
Hot tub maintenance - manage chemical levels and testing
Grounds maintenance - snow removal, mowing, weed and invasive plant removal, gardening
Experience: Property management or caretaking, project management, trades,
Willingness/enthusiasm to tackle issues as our go-to, on-the-ground resource for fixing & troubleshooting things that go wrong (water systems, broken furniture, leaks, etc).
Attention to detail, high standards for quality

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
ROLE 1: GUEST HOST
Warmly welcome guests at arrival, and act as a friendly, attentive presence throughout their stays.
Help troubleshoot issues (TVs, hot tubs, etc), answer their questions, and make them feel at home.
Guest Education: Get guests excited (and prepared for) their outdoors trips by acting as an area guide and expert, providing guests with advice, insider knowledge, itinerary ideas, and educational resources based on their experience, ability, and interests.
Communicate with our team: Act as the bridge between our guests and the rest of our team, communicating any guest, reservation, or property issues that require follow-up.
Community Involvement: Monitor weather, local happenings, and community sentiments so we can keep our guests informed, act on weather events, and be a good neighbor in the community. Build friendly relationships with vendors, our cleaning team, the Estes Park Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and others in the community by chatting with them on-site and helping deliver special occasion gifts.
ROLE 2: PROPERTY MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Monitor the property: Keep a close eye on the property to maintain quality for guests, flag issues, and anticipate maintenance needs.
Maintenance: Fix and troubleshoot maintenance issues including broken furniture/cabin fixes, water system issues, and more. For bigger projects, manage all of our site-specific maintenance operations by scheduling, coordinating, greeting, and communicating with vendors and tradespeople. Communicate the status of maintenance tasks with our internal team via Slack and Trello.
Systems & Inventories: Oversee and manage all properties systems including water systems and propane, and maintain supply inventories.
Grounds: Care for the grounds, including occasional weeding, mowing, gardening, and clearing micro trash.
Communicate with our team: Act as the bridge between vendors, tradespeople, and maintenance people and our internal team, recapping projects and passing along property matters that require follow-up.
SCHEDULE
Full-time, 40 hours per week on-site performing primary tasks. Critical hours are 3-7pm, with weekly schedule TBD.
