Bilingual Foster Parents - Texas
The St. Jerome's Unaccompanied Refugee Minor program at Catholic Charities is seeking a multi-cultural married couple to live and work in a home as Foster Parents with 6 refugee adolescents and/or young adults. Responsibilities include: providing family-style atmosphere, teaching life, educational and vocational skills, assisting youth and young adults to adjust to living in a new country through support and guidance, implementing service plans, coordinating with various professionals on behalf of youth to ensure youth needs are met including school personnel, therapist, and psychiatrist, advocating for adolescents, & managing a home budget. Bi-lingual and relevant education in human services field and/or experience with adolescents is preferred. Experience of resettling within the US or living abroad is desired along with create a lifestyle centered on working with adolescents in a supportive, nurturing home environment is a must. Do to licensing restraints, couples with biological children still living at home cannot qualify.
